I had the pleasure of delivering a Driver CPC Emergency First Aid course earlier this week at North Farm Stud, near Wantage.
The group was from a from a variety of backgrounds, including the equestrian and horseracing fraternity and all were superb to teach
Had the usual remarks and looks when delivering abdominal thrusts to the dummy but expected nothing less.
As I’ve said in previous posts, CPC courses should always be about engagement with the drivers. This course delivers on a number of fronts.
The benefits of a course being ‘active’ are simple
- we avoid ‘Death by Powerpoint’, or at least keep it to a minimum, and
- people aren’t spending 7 hours on their backsides
An Emergency First Aid for Drivers can be delivered to a maximum of 12 Drivers (room and floor space permitting)
It also delivers both 7 hours of CPC and a recognised Emergency First Aid qualification which is valid for 3 years
