Anti Idling Policies were introduced into the FORS Standard in Version 4.0 under section O4 back in October 2016 but looking at some recent FORS audit results people just aren’t getting the message, here’s what the standard says

O4     Engine idling
Requirement
Fleet operators shall have a written policy and procedure to reduce instances of engine-idling.
Purpose
To ensure that the impact of emissions on health and fuel efficiency can be minimised, drivers
shall avoid unnecessary engine-idling while loading, waiting or stationary in traffic
for long periods.
The associate Guidance document – which can be found HERE expands on this to help Operators comply
